Text description of view 2005-08-16 rE This view illustrates the relationship between the apron stones, k10, in k101, and the structures to the east and south. Several years ago, a German team excavated an E-W trench to the east of k12/k101 which revealed a line of large limestone blocks extending along the south baulk of their trench. This line of stones matches the north edge of apron stones, f10 in k101. This series of views also provides evidence to resolve the issue of whether the apron, f10, was built as a part of the monumental wall, f11, in Phase 1 (ED III) or was added subsequently as decoration in Phase 5 (Khabur) or 6 (Mittani).
