Text description of view 2006-08-17 eDB This photograph documents a pit, a6, found in the NE corner of locus k23 below the general location of the stone and laminar conglomerate, f142. Note that although the directional and horizontal references are not in the photo, which was taken looking to the NE to a pit that is about 100 cm in diameter. The photo documents that it was cut into the wahal layer, f152, which in turn was a new surface applied in the Mittani period to cover the baqaya covering, f109, which served as the surface of the BA temple mound since the Early Dynastic period when the mound and revetment wall, f11, were constructed. The photo shows the pit, a6, consisting of the cut, f160, and a layer of fill within, f149. The wahal layer, f152, can be seen in the north part of the locus, while the accumulation which covered it, F151 can be seen to the south of the pit, not having been fully excavated at the time the photo was taken.
