This feature is located for the most part within the N baulk of k218 in the NW corner. The layer of bricks, f36, was adjacent to it. At about this level,in close proximity extending into k168, was f67, a horizontal layer of plastered stones, just below the topsoil (see v22). This was excavated during MZ7. There is a large stone slab, width 50-56cm, 75-80cm long, 10-15cm thick, resting at the bottom level of f111, its largest surface facing S, at 45 deg. to the vertical. Underneath it are sherd and rocks. We have wondered in the past if this covered a burial. [Input: G716RK.J] |
