Stratigraphy

Phase 5c contains the ceramics phase 4 deposits above the Tupkish palace least likely to have been affected by wind erosion or flowing water in gullys because it was well protected by the extant palace walls. Although there are few artifacts attributable to the UrIII period, we presume that is UrIII because it is directly above deposits from Ishar Kinum's use of the remodeled Tupkish palace in ceramic phase 3.

Most of the stratum 380 deposits arevceramics phase 4 and are below elevation 8750. Furthermore, they are covered by phase 5h deposits. There was no clear upper boundary to phase 5h, or lower boundary to phase 4r. There were several significant features, including pavements (f229), floors (f599), and a pit (a55).
