Stratigraphy

Phase 7v comprises three features in which ceramic vessels and sherds were dated to the Mittani period. They are in high disturbed layers near the tell surface and concentrated in locus k15 on the southern edge of the unit. The bulk of the Mittani occupation was higher and to the north and east. These are the only Mittani features in the unit and may be associated with an industrial activity.

Only Stratum 120 comprises this phase. There is a floor surface (f310) and two accumulations (f311 and f325). f325 is about a meter below the other two and may be the fill of a pit.

Typology

Ceramics and items from these layers are fully analyzed and cataloged. The higher features contained lithic tools and sherds. The lower feature contained three smashed jars (i206, i207, and i208) as well as sherds and a seal impression.
