2. IDENTIFICATION

Designation

Roster Date Author Record
Description (summary) 2008-09-03 lC Pebble and sherd pavement below the accumulation f74 in the northern half of k4. This pavement is the second found in k4 after the pavement f72. The two pavements are really similar, and the only difference clearly visible is a little difference in level. But it is possible that the two pavement are the same, with a sort of later rearrangement of the first pavement f72. Now we consider them as the same pavement. The surface is irregular with many bones and sherds lying flat and vertical in a clay soil. [Input: S903LC.j]

3. STRATIGRAPHY

Recovery/Assignment

Roster Date Author Record
Daily notes about recovery of elements 2008-08-04 lR this pavement began to emerge today with small pebbles and cobblestones present, similar to f35 and at the same elevation likely a continuation of this feature into k4. The pavement appears to have multiple phases of use with another pavement below, seen in the middle of the locus, labeled f72. The same situation is present in k3, with multiple levels of f35 pavement. [Input: S804LR.j]
2008-08-05 lR Spent the morning articulating the pavement f73, exposing many fragmented animal bones embedded in the pavement. The pavement is irregular in level, likely a simple outdoor floor surface unintentionally created. Once the pavement was fully exposed, it was cleaned, and covered in plastic to protect it for a photograph tomorrow. In the south, f71 was defined, excavating north and south of the bricks. [Input: S805LR2.j]
