2. IDENTIFICATION

Designation

Roster Date Author Record
Description (summary) 2010-01-23 sC While removing f78 in the N portion of k83, we have exposed the top-face of a limestone wall running W-E, f146. This wall consists (as visible at present) of a single line of limestones which are embedded into mud mortar with some small stones between the joints. The wall is approxim. 13 stones in total: most of them seems to be irregular in shape, with some rectangular in shape. The bigger stone (f146.5 in k83) is aproximately 80cm long and 30cm wide. On top of some of the stones belonging to f146 rest some small-size stones, rounded in shape (these have been defined as f148). This wall is not perfectly W-E alligned. In the west the stones belonging to f146 appear to be disturbed, whit some large gaps between one stone and another, while in k73, south of wall f161-f162, the stones belonging to f146 are nicely alligned, besides of being more regular in shape and similar among them in dimensions. 3. STRATIGRAPHY

Recovery/Assignment

Roster Date Author Record
Notes on recovery 2010-01-23 sC At present we do not know the real nature of f146. f146 is a line of stones, adjacent to and parallel to f161 (the bricky wall). f146 is in line with a step of the Apron and it is composed by large limestones, very similar and regular dimensions. f146 could therefore belong to a step of the Apron "used" in a later phase either in the period of use of the bin installation, or f146 could have been built in a later period (in a period of rebuilding activities associated probably with the extension of the revetement wall). It could be that f146 has been placed on top of the revetement wall. [Input: U123SC.j]
2010-03-05 sC It could be that we have made a mistake in labeling f146 all the stones having the W-E andament in k83 and k73. It could be that the first 5 stones of f146 located in k83, which are not perfectly alligned, could be part of another structure. Wall f146 as it is exposed in k73 N, is characterized by stones that are more nicely alligned, very similar in size and shape among them. Furthermore, the west extent seems to be 'divided' from the east portion of wall f146 by two large limestones: f145 and f147. [Input: U305SC.j]
