The photographic documentation that accompanies this artifact demonstrates the importance of orientation. I note that the object is some 4 cm long. Thus, we may in fact have here an animal torso. Unfortunately the artifact is displayed vertically, and there is not enough definition in the representation to enable the viewer to ascertain whether there were other appendages or not.
