Definition 2005-8-3vVE wall
Summary 2007-7-13pC an east-west oriented line of large stone blocks in front of the apron f131. It could be a courtain wall, so that was built to retain the accumulations south of the apron. See also wall f224 in v115.

Description/Count
Description 2005-8-3vVE Wall parallel to f131, stones and brick debris.
2005-8-16mH The stones used in this feature is marble-like. Some surfaces are very smooth to touch. The northern face of some of the stones is reddish. This red seems to be part of the stone, but it is curious that the upper surfaces do not have this reddish color.

Recovery/Assignment and the Record
Argument 2007-7-13pC The western end of this stone alignment is close to but not quite at the edge of k4 and k100. At an approximately correponding place on the other side of k100 we have the "doorjam" belonging to f129. These could perhaps be related. vVE made an observation that the line of stones seems to be continued by bricks or at least bricky material. gB inspected the area and agreed that the material was indeed bricky but he hesitated calling them bricks due to lack of clear faces. He suggested scraping the area in order to see whether they indeed were bricks. After this was done, they disappeared, although the area approximately between r445 and m3956 does contain lumps of melted bricks. Instead of being a brick wall, the stone alingment seems to continue towards east

Phase to which stratum belongs 2011-11-11cJC h7jJ2B
Stratigraphic reasons 2005-9-14mH Abutted on the south side by bricky debris and on the north side accumulation, which do not suggest very intensive use. In fact, first clear use feature ( f150) went underneath this feature.
2008-3-5pC brickfall covers wall f144 and therfore wall must be younger
Typological reasons 2008-3-5pC I doubt that wall f144 was build to retain the brickfall, thus this was coming from the east and it would therefore have a north-south orientation. This wall, as for other small walls f232, f244 and f188 are built to delimitate the area in front of apron and wall. Similar wall was found at the same elevation also under the brickfall and with the same orientation few meters to the east in J6 (J6 f152)
Other reasons 2005-9-14mH Raising of f232 in order to contain brickfall/bricky material a way from the front of the apron, no active use.
2011-5-16cJC small curtain wall inside the brickfall layers. This wall, along with f232, argue that the brickfall either took place over a long time or as two distinct events. The walls were built while the area was still filling in with brickfall. mH notes that it might have been a reconstruction of f232 that was keep the brickfall away from the staircase
2011-11-21cJC Small curtain wall construction during the mid-brickfall use. An attempt to reclaim the area that was ultimately unsuccessful.
