| Description (summary) | 2001-09-01 | jlw | red, granular material, that along with small stones, formed the bed upon which the very large stones that comprise the plaza floor were placed. It is similar to the material that is found in lower levels of deep wells in the area. it appears that a large stone would have its top side flattened, then the packing would be molded in the negative of the bottom side so that the top of each large stone would sit level with the tops of the others.
