Stratigraphy
Stratum 570 is the only one in this Phase. It consists of several features below the reception area to the formal courtyard described in Phase 4j. First, packing f366, which underlies the pavers of the flagstone courtyard, was exposed when the stones were removed from above by way of a pit. Second, a test trench was dug into the mudbrick floor f558 to explore how it was constructed. A cut stone floor f571 underlay the mudbricks.
