Phase 9s contains the undifferented material within a designated baulk when it is excavated as a unit and not feature by feature. This situation occurs most often when the stratigraphy on either side of the baulk is well understood. However, all items are retained and cataloged. Stratum 00 (baulks) contains soil and movable elements recovered when the baulk between adjacent squares is removed as a unit. |
