Brief Overview
The definition of the what is a jar is the same for all units and all time periods in the UGR. See here for further details.
Since much of the ED II ceramics came from tombs the ceramic inventory we have already excavated might not reflect the major jar shapes in use at the site during the ED II period. From the sherds and whole vessels we do have from the excavations the ED II period had a number of hole mouth jars and especially necked jars. Globular jars of essentially one type with pronounced shoulders were present as well as a few straight sided jars.
