| 2008-08-23 | cJC | In the morning we were going to remove all of the 1 meter eastern edge that we can cut down from inside k200. gB suggested that instead of removing it all we only remove down to the level just below the brickfall. Because this decision was made after work had already begun there is a large cut in the layer below the brickfall. No ash was found under the brickfall at the point which work stopped but there was a hard surface in small patches. gB proposed a diagaonal cut from the SE corner to the NW corner of k4 to minimize the amount of dirt to be removed and still have a good view of the staircase.
