Types of contact among features

Caitlin Chaves Yates – August 2011

The type of contact “to cut or intrude” represents a total of 28% of the types of contact in OH2. This type of contact is usually rare in excavations (except those areas with numerous pits) and despite the higher percentage in OH2, “cutting” does not characterize the main type of contact. The incidences of cutting are from rodent holes (f6, f7) that cut through several features, thereby increasing the frequency of use of this type of contact but not indicating the actual uses of the area but rather post-depositional disturbances.
