Introduction

The decoration coding system is flexible and allows any combination of codes. In many cases the code combinations indicate the use of the same technique (i.e. two types of painted decoration, two types of incised decoration, etc.). In some cases, however, the decorations use more than one technique and some of those combinations are illustrated below.
