Brief Overview

The definition of what is a cup is the same for all units and all time periods in the UGR. See here for further details. In this time period the palace of Tupkish was no longer in use. This period had no massive architecture as in previous periods but did produce evidence of a relatively open area with burials especially in A10 and A16.

Conical cups with string cut bases continue from the Akkadian period in Urkesh but gradually decrease in number being replaced in function by conical cups with cut bases.
