Brief Overview

The definition of what is a pot is the same for all units and all time periods in the UGR. See here for further details. In this time period the palace of Tupkish was no longer in use. This period had no massive architecture as in previous periods but did produce evidence of a relatively open area with burials especially in A10 and A16.

Few pot shapes were found for this period. The shapes we do have are ovoid and very similar to the pot shapes with a rounded carination mid way down the body. Pots could be decorated with bitumen paint. When this occurs bitumen covers the rim, at times both the exterior and interior. This can be combined with a row of dots below the rim.
