One will find here a full set of references to all publications about Urkesh by members of the staff or by colleagues who have access to primary material from the excavations. Along with publications specific to Urkesh, you can also find those of broader interest.
As far as it is possible, each bibliograhical entry is correlated by a brief summary and in some cases by a longer abstract.
Where possible, we offer links to electronic versions of the works, where “electronic” means that these are simply mirror copies of paper editions, with no claim at having been originally conceived as digital.
The excavation record as published in the Urlesh Global Record uses this bibliography for reference.
The contents are as follows:
- Project Publications: publications, presentations and other output by members of staff. Beside a link to an electronic version where possible, the entries include an abstract and/or a poster.
- Other Publications: publications relevant to Urkesh and of broader interest to Ancient Near Eastern studies (with two specific sub-setions offering Abstracts and Keywords).
- Media Coverage: discussions of Urkesh in the popular (also social) media.
- Major themes: titles pertaining to topics that are central to the record, e. g. ceramics.
- Abstracts: longer reviews of selected titles.
- Excursuses: discussions related to specific topics. [this may hav to be eliminated]
- Indices: authors, keywords, lables and topics
