Introduction

For our approach to volumetry see the relevant section in the Grammar. As OH2 had only one locus the sections for all four cardinal directions were drawn instead of the usual east and north. Having all four sections allows one to conceptualize the whole excavation and see the subtle differences across the small area.

All Sections

The north section of k1 shows the complete excavated depth of the locus with all features visible. The thick deposit (f4) including the numerous sealings can be seen clearly in the middle of the section, covering the earlier lamination levels (f8, f9).

The OH2 western section shows the complete section at the end of excavations. It shows the location of the feature, f12, that was only recognized in section.

The South section of k1 shows the excavated features at the end of excavations. The most important aspect of this section is to illustrate the intrusions caused by the rodent burrows.

The k1 eastern section shows the features at the end of excavations. It highlights the thick band of deposits (f4) associated with the numerous clay sealings overlaying the thin layer of f5.
