Stratigraphy
Phase 7s (Stratum 130) is the earliest late Mittani stratum excavated. In this time period, the apron framing the stairway to the south, and the plaza to the west were not visible. The most notable cause was that natural accumulations (f45 for example) immediately built up in the plaza and were not removed. Rather, it appears that they were leveled, then built up again. In the process, the stairway, f21, became covered step-by-step. |
