Stratigraphy

Phase 3m (Stratum 650) modified the temple mound by extending to the west the Early Dynastic III period monumental stone revetment wall f189 to intersect an earlier Ninevite V monumental stone wall, f41.
Because the EDIII wall was not exactly aligned with the Ninevite V wall and its stone escarpment, a baqaya and sherd escarpment f184 was added to protect the base of the new extension from erosion.
