Stratigraphy

Phase 3l (Stratum 660) addresses the deposits on and abutting the stone escarpment.
The earliest deposit excavated was a pebble floor near the turn of wall f41 that abutted the outermost line of stones of the stone escarpment f285.
This floor was covered by an accumulation f282 that in turn was covered by accumulation f278.
Further to the east along the revetment wall system there were a number of floor surfaces that extended into J1. Floor f247 is an example.
