Phase 9h consists of the single stratum, s40. It contains the soil layers and other features beginning just above the last Middle Assyrian layers, Phase 8r, and continuing upward to just under the topsoil, Phase 9m. During this long period of time, encompassing two millenia, the tell was occasionally visited for short periods by travelers and herders who left scant traces of their stay. |

Typology
Ceramics and items from these layers are fully analyzed and cataloged. Pottery is from mixed phases. Most items are ubiquitous stone tools and clay artifacts.
