Stratigraphy

This Early Mittani phase, is characterized by a re-organization of the area around the staircase J02f130 where a glacis layer was laid. Very minimal human activities are attested during this phase in J4, as the natural build up of the tell's surface dominated the scene.

Glacis

The glacis layer that was laid down on top of the mound f77 in Phase 63-MZA in k82, is the same as f127 in k72, both part of ^glacis2 The assignement of two different feature numbers is the result of excavating it in two different loci, and being overlaid by the eastern baulk.

Walls and stone installations

f146, presumably a wall hat could belong to a step of the Apron “used” in a later phase, during the period of the use of the bin installation f93. The other possibility, is that it was built in a later period (in a period of rebuilding activities associated probably with the extension of the revetment wall)

As for the stone installations, the most significant out of the two is f148, consisting of six small rounded stones located in the northern portion of k73 with a W-E orientation. These stones, all oval in shape, are embedded into mud mortar with some small stones between the joints and, are all located on top of wall f146.
