Shell artifacts

The number of shells recovered from J4 is very low (5 shells). Only one shell is perforated, while the rest are in their natural state. The shells were retrieved from various layers (two from modern mixed layer and sifter dirt, and others from Mittani and Imperial Akkadian layer).

The scarcity of such type of objects is consistent with the nature of J4, a unit that consist of mostly accumulation layer with no major activities.
