Animal figurine, probably representing a lion. The neck and body are preserved while the head and the legs are missing. The body is robust and proportioned and the attachment of the limbs to the body is very well executed. The presumed genus was derived from the added pieces of clay around the neck area, as what appears to be a representation of a mane, reaching the chest area. This mane is created by added clay which then was sculpted to represent large strands of hair in an abstract style. [Input: ZK115yM.j] |
