Description (summary) 2008-08-11 pC The situation East of the staircase at the end of mittani, where only the glacis and the memory stones f127 were visible. A surface which was labeled glacis covers the area and comes to the stones f127, which are the upper part of the flanking staircase wall, to the West and continues to the South. [Input: S811PC.J]
2009-01-21 pC a2 consists in wall f127 and the glacis f63 (^glacis1): the glacis is a hard and compact surface which is sloping and comes to wall f127, where possibly it ends. In this case the glacis has the function of glacis in j3, were a series of glacis were layed on top of the temple mound and end aganist the revetment wall. For similarity of situation the surfaces in J6 were named also glacis. [Input: SZ31PC.J]

It was resting precisely over the beginning of the bricky projection of the wall, the beginning of the new glacis f187. Also, a black cylinder seal, i18, at middle high in the excavation of the accumulation f167, in an area where the consistence of the soil was more bricky than ashy. [Input: S913CVP.J]

q288 (pottery) [Input: S913CVP.J]
Notes on aggregation 2008-09-13 cVP The wall was ascribed tentatively to Phase h33, more on account of stratigraphical reasons. Even if the cylinder seal found in f167 was preliminary assesed as Early Akkadian, the pottery associated with it has mitanni components. That means that the wall f166, along with glacis f187 (^glacis 3), could have been built during Phase h33, but the accumulation of ashes and bricky crups forming f167, above it, and also the upper glacis f107, ^glacis2, are Mittani. Also, we think that there could be a connection between f187 found in k74, abutting wall f166, and glacis f164 in k84; they are both red and bricky and at a similar elevation. f187 would slope down in a general SW direction. 4. TYPOLOGY

Function

Roster Date Author Record
Notes on function 2008-09-13 pC this building was probably the southern gate to the temple terrace: it is dated to EDII and the building technique is the same as for the walls of the terrace (revetment wall). The orientation of the building reflects the same orientation as the staircase. The plaza in the 3. millennium was a free space beginning from this point. Probably at the beginning of the second millennium the limits of the plaza were more to the North and this building was anymore used. Another possibility is that is a corner wall and not a building; in this case is the south and east boundary of the plaza [Input: S902PC.J]
