Conservation of the built environment in J6 has been essentially of a protective nature.
The conservation procedure in this unit is the same as for all the site. The concept of site conservation has been developed by Giorgio Buccellati and Marilyn Kelly-Buccellati since the beginning of excavations at Tell Mozan and continues to this day.
The conservation and restauration procedures are published in several articles and in the Conservation book. The excavations at Tell Mozan were always carried with a conservation approach to architecture and site presentation. The approach to conservation of stone and mudbrick architecture is described in the left side bar.
